Question(s)	A data item requested to be collected by NHS funded care providers is: A place of safety indicator. Until new guidance is published, care provider organisations should continue to record care contacts that relate to S.136 events as per current local policy.
Response scale	A Place of Safety may be: • a residential ACCOMMODATION provided by a local social services authority under Part III of the National Assistance Act 1948 • a hospital as defined by the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended by the Mental Health Act 2007 • a police station • an independent hospital or Care Home for mentally disordered PERSONS or • any other suitable place.
