Question(s)

Indicator of whether the client/service user lives alone.

This is an optional data item when submitting Q1, Q2 and Q3 data. This data item becomes mandatory when submitting Q4 data and must be submitted if a client has lived alone at any point during the financial year.

If the client’s living along status has changed at any point during the financial year please record the status of the client at the end of the reporting period or the latest information available.

This data should be added to the Q4 file regardless of the quarter that the living alone status relates to.
Include:
• Mainstream Housing
• Sheltered Accommodation
• Supported Accommodation (single tenancy).

Exclude:
• Care Home
• Supported Accommodation (shared tenancy).

This data item is to establish if the client/service user lives alone and if this is likely to have a bearing on the care/services required. It is not to establish tenancy/housing.
